The newly developed ERET high-speed door from the series PSE-S opens at 3 m per second (V/max). This allows even large hall openings, such as the approximately 5×5 m opening in this example, to be opened and closed again in a few seconds.

In this application example, the opening time for a 5 m high opening is approx. 3 seconds. When active presence detectors are used, the immediate area around the door is monitored optically. This allows the high-speed door to close again after a hold-open time of just a few seconds. Monitoring the immediate surroundings of the high-speed door based on actual conditions is a key factor in the efficiency of industrial building doors: what use is the fastest, best-insulated door if it remains open when no one is passing through?

According to a study recently published through the BVT, the greatest door-related heat losses are caused by leaks around the door and unnecessary hold-open times rather than inadequate insulation. In practice, this means that opening the door very quickly and closing it again immediately after passage can significantly reduce your heating costs.
