PRESENCE DETECTORS FOR HIGH-SPEED DOORS

The MILAN is an active infrared sensor. It improves door protection by preventing collisions between vehicles and door leaves. Its adjustable detection field allows precise areas to be defined in which an opening signal is generated.

Monitoring areas

The door's ‘approach area’ is monitored. This prevents a vehicle or person from moving into the door as it closes. The standard ‘intelligent light curtains’ monitor only the closing plane, not the areas in front of and behind it. 

If someone is in the door's approach area, it stays open!

This allows you to reduce the door's automatic closing delay to a minimum of about 2-3 seconds. Your door stays open for exactly as long as ‘something’ is there anyway. It then closes in 2 seconds.

Adjustable detection field

The detection field can be adjusted precisely to the area in front of the door so that, for example, shelving, pallets or goods stored beside the door are not detected.

Adjustable maximum presence time

If something is detected that remains unchanged for an extended period – keeping the door open – the "maximum presence time" can be set precisely. Once this period expires, the changed image is assessed as "OK" and the door system can close again.
