Intelligent light curtains

Standard on all ProLine and AluLine high-speed doors

(only with ProZ and ProF controllers. Not with the optional GfA equipment)

Light curtain and controller: one unit!

The light curtain, encoder and controller work together in ERET high-speed doors

The door curtain travels directly in the plane of the light curtains. As the door curtain moves, individual light curtain beams are blocked or cleared. The door controller can derive valuable information from this and respond accordingly.

With all components working together, the control unit can now compare the door position reported by the encoder with the actual door position, detect an obstacle and assess its distance, or respond to other deviations.

Prewired and ready to plug in

Light curtains are completely prewired and ready to plug in. Only a prepared cable connection needs to be plugged into the drive and screwed securely in place. All cables are supplied as extension cables and can be replaced very easily if damaged

Distance detection and travel path monitoring

Door position and light curtain beams are continuously cross-checked

      • each light curtain beam is immediately checked against the door position when it is interrupted and cleared. If something does not match, the door control responds immediately.
      • continuous comparison shows whether the door is jammed, for example, or closing "normally".
      • if the door jams while closing, the control system stops immediately and attempts to close again. A ‘crash’ into the door is also detected immediately by the light curtain. (Patented ERET technology)
      • the distance of an obstacle from the current door position is determined. The door can then decelerate very gently if the distance to the obstacle allows. It only brakes sharply when the available distance is short.
      • Wear is significantly reduced and service life noticeably extended.

      Diagnostic functions

Light curtain status check in the controller

Numerous diagnostic and adjustment functions in the control system give service technicians detailed information about the functionality of all drive, frequency inverter and light curtain components.

Each individual beam of the light curtain can be addressed and queried at the controller. Its function and light output can then be read. If necessary, individual beams can be disabled or the light output of the light curtain adjusted.
